Airshow update september 2015
Here's our planned airshows for september.
Rygge Air Base 2-3 September
Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) de Havilland Vampire FB.52 and T.55 flew in formation with a RNoAF F-16 over Rygge AB 2-3 September as school children and foreign military officers was invited to the air base. Our de Havilland Vampires was piloted by Per G Strømmen and Kenneth Aarkvisla. The F-16 driver was lt. col. Bjørge “GAFF” Kleppe the squadron commander of 338 Squadron based at Ørland AB and the first Norwegian to reach 4000 flight hours in the F-16.

Flydagen Sola. Saturday September 5th
Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) de Havilland Vampire FB.52 displayed at Flydagen Sola Saturday September 5th. Pilot Per Strømmen flew the Vampire FB.52 over the mountains from Rygge to Sola a former base for RNoAF Vampires. FHS has displayed our Vampires at the larger Sola Air Show several times and usually also each year visit the airfield during ferry flights from Norway over to the UK for airshow appearances. FHS has great friends and supporters at the aero clubs based at Sola, Sola Flymuseum and at Sola Air Base. We thank you all for your support.

Flydagen Rygge. Sunday September 6
Rygge Flyklubb organized a flying day and invited the public to the event. Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) de Havilland Vampire FB.52 displayed at Flydagen Rygge Sunday September 6. Pilot Per Strømmen was flying the Vampire FB.52 display.
Jersey International Air Display September 10th
Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) is to display at Jersey International Air Display. We are invited to display our MiG-15 UTI RED 18
and we are really honored to fly at this great event. MiG-15 pilot Kenneth Aarkvisla will ferry the aircraft from North Weald to Jersey where he also will be displaying the aircraft. FHS has had a busy airshow season and we are delighted we are able to come to Jersey with the MiG.
Southport Air Show 2015 9th & 20th September
Southport Air Show the number one family day out in the North West! Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) is to display at Southport Air Show. We are invited to display our MiG-15 UTI RED 18 and this is our last airshow for the season. MiG-15 pilot Kenneth Aarkvisla will ferry the aircraft from North Weald and he will also be displaying the aircraft. FHS is rounding up our airshow season at Southport Air Show.
The 2015 season has been a fantastic enjoyable season for Flyvåpnets Historiske Skvadron (FHS) but also a bit challenging sometimes. We are grateful to hear that our participation with our historic jet aircraft at airshows is appreciated by so many in the audience as well as among the organizers. Thank you for your support.
